Holy Family Youth Group is a place where students can come to grow up and become the next generation of the catholic congregation. For me it was a place where my voice and thoughts could be heard. I learned that we as Catholic youth should show the strengths and the positives of our faith. One of the best things that Holy Family Youth group has given me is presenting me the opportunity to feel the spiritual and humanitarian need to give back to people. As a group, we participated in many different volunteering settings where I could see how our small group was making a difference in subtle ways. On another note, on the retreats that our group went on, I was really able to connect with God in a way that I wasn’t able to before. With just those couple retreats I was able to realize that my relationship with God had changed, going to church was no longer just another hour in my week but something I yearned for.
As a past member of the Holy Family Youth Group, I would encourage middle and high school students to not wait or become distant with our church but to be the ones to bring it together. You might just find, as I did, that you discovered how to connect with God as well as the Church in a way that you previously might not have experienced. - Bryce James-
